Just as Lucifer is a dark fallen angel that transforms himself into an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), so is the mark of the beast seemingly attractive to those who reject the light of Christ and are perishing in their participation with Satan in the Devil's apostasy from God. That apostasy on the part of the Devil is eternal and all who seal themselves over to it are damned forever by God.

That seal is the mark of the beast and is the mark the Antichrist seeks to impress on his followers.
