If someone claimed to be the Twelfth Imam in an esoteric Sufi sense [false sense and not a genuine sincere humble Sufi sense] and pointed to a figure like al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah of the Druze as the Mahdi he would be a false prophet and an antichrist by definition (both by definition from a Christian and Islamic point of view). When he pointed to this person (most likely an Freemasonic ecumenist) as the Mahdi who then, instead of witnessing to morality and blessing Jesus Christ, unifies both Sunni and Shia and a substantial portion of Islam around himself and strikes a peace agreement with the Antichrist (the Dajjal) in Jerusalem then this person claiming to be the Mahdi would be one of the ten horns (see Rev. 17:3, 7, 12, 16) that follow after the Beast (the Antichrist) and do his will and then there is the false peace St. Paul warned about. One, an offshoot which shall arise from among the ten horns (kings or rulers), will come forward with the ten behind it and conquer three others before it and rule over seven as the eighth and this one will be the Antichrist (God alone knows at this point in time who that is). We will know when it happens. To follow or serve the Antichrist, ad-Dajjal, is certain damnation. The early Christian martyrs resisted even when it meant their death.

In Vatican City today, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, 76, became the new Pope Francis. After Catholic cardinals debated the options earlier today, a puff of white smoke issued from the Sistine Chapel’s chimney indicated that the decision was complete, the New York Times reports.

Pope Francis I, the 265th Pontiff of the Roman Catholic church, is the first South American to hold the position, and by choosing Bergoglio, the Church shows its support to the Global South, where most of the world’s Catholics reside, the Times writes. Born to Italian emigrant parents, Bergoglio grew up in Buenos Aires and formerly led the church’s Jesuit order. He is the first person born outside of Europe to be elected pope since the Byzantine era. Popes once hailed from Africa, Syria, Palestine and parts of the Byzantine Empire; the last pope to come from outside of Europe was Gregory III, of Syria, who was elected pope by acclamation in 731. [Eternal faith and beliefs: Gregory III of Rome]

Gregory III faced controversies over religious issues like the use of holy images. The host of troubles facing the newest pope include proper management of the Vatican banks. The Times writes that the cardinals who elected Pope Francis were looking for “a pope that understands the problems of the Church at present”—many of them bureaucratic—and who is strong enough to tackle them.

Today, Pope Benedict XVI told the world that he would resign. No one saw this coming, really, because no one resigns from the position. The last time a pope resigned was in 1415, and there have been only a handful of other cases of papal abdication:

308: Pope Marcellinus stepped down from the position shortly before dying. No one is sure why.

366: Pope Liberius also stepped down without a clear reason.

1009: Pope John XVIII ended his time as pope and retired to a monastery. Many accounts suggest that John was beholden to the Crescentii family, a powerful Roman clan.

1045: Pope Benedict IX was the first pope to very clearly step down. (Earlier accounts are fuzzy, historically.) This Benedict was apparently quite a handful. His resignation was a business deal of sorts: he sold his seat for a large sum of money to the Archpriest John Gratain. This transaction was so scandalous that the king intervened, reinstating Benedict as pope. Benedict IX was then deposed again, reinstated once more, and finally driven away to make room for Damasus II.

1294: Pope Celestine V is probably the most famous of abdicators. After just five months in the seat, Celestine wrote a decree that allowed popes to step down, before doing so himself. The site Catholic Online puts it this way:

He was Pope only about five months. Because he was so humble and simple, everyone took advantage of him. He could not say “no” to anyone, and soon matters were in great confusion. At last, the Saint decided that he had better give up his position as Pope. He did so and then threw himself at the feet of the Cardinals for not having been capable of governing the Church.

Celestine V inherited a troubled papacy which was largely under the thumb of Charles II of Sicily. Through his reign Celestine was unable to do much of anything without approval and support from Charles – something Celestine himself recognized. This was probably the reason why he abdicated his position after only 5 months.

1415: Pope Gregory XII resigned in an attempt to end the Western Schism, a forty year period during which three different people—Roman Pope Gregory XII, Avignon Antipope Benedict XIII, and Pisan Antipope John XXIII—claimed to be the head of the Catholic Church.

2013: Which brings us to today. Here’s the full resignation from Benedict XVI.

Dear Brothers,

I have convoked you to this Consistory, not only for the three canonizations, but also to communicate to you a decision of great importance for the life of the Church. After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry. I am well aware that this ministry, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering. However, in today’s world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the bark of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me. For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom I declare that I renounce the ministry of Bishop of Rome, Successor of Saint Peter, entrusted to me by the Cardinals on 19 April 2005, in such a way, that as from 28 February 2013, at 20:00 hours, the See of Rome, the See of Saint Peter, will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is.

Dear Brothers, I thank you most sincerely for all the love and work with which you have supported me in my ministry and I ask pardon for all my defects. And now, let us entrust the Holy Church to the care of Our Supreme Pastor, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and implore his holy Mother Mary, so that she may assist the Cardinal Fathers with her maternal solicitude, in electing a new Supreme Pontiff. With regard to myself, I wish to also devotedly serve the Holy Church of God in the future through a life dedicated to prayer.

People will surely wonder exactly why Benedict stepped down, since it’s such a rare occurrence. The New York Times points out that during his predecessor’s tenure, the pope (then Cardinal Ratzinger) indicated that a pope who “sees that he absolutely cannot do [the job] anymore” would resign. But no one knows yet what exactly pushed him to make this decision.

On two occasions, 4 October 2011 and 4 February 2012, permanent members of the UN Security rebuffed draft resolutions on the situation in Syria. This showdown has pitted members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) against those of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The end of the unipolar world

This quadruple veto seals the end of a period of international relations that began with the collapse of the Soviet Union and witnessed the undivided domination of the United States over the rest of the world. It does not signify a return to the previous bipolar system, but the emergence of a new model whose contours are yet to be defined. None of the New World Order projects have been achieved. Washington and Tel Aviv have failed to institutionalize the unipolar governance they intended to impose as an inviolable paradigm, while the BRICS fell short of creating a multipolar system that would have enabled its members to rise to the highest level.

As Syrian strategist Imad Fawzi Shueibi had rightly anticipated, the Syrian crisis has crystallized a new balance of power, and from there a redistribution of power that no one had foreseen or wanted, but which must be accepted as an inescapable reality. [1]

In retrospect, Hillary Clinton’s "leadership from behind" doctrine appears as an attempt by the United States to test their limits, while shifting the responsibility on their British and, especially, French allies. Yet, it was they who burst on the scene imposing themselves as political and military leaders during the overthrow of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, something they hoped to live through again by toppling the Syrian Arab Republic, even if they did so as vassals and sub-contractors of the U.S. empire. So it is London and Paris, even more than Washington, that suffered a diplomatic defeat and bear the consequences in terms of loss of influence.

States of the Third World are sure to draw their conclusions from these recent events: those who choose to serve the United States, like Saddam Hussein, or to negotiate with them, like Muammar el-Qaddafi, could be executed by the imperial troops and their country destroyed. On the contrary, those who resist, like Bashar al-Assad, and build alliances with Russia and China will survive.

Triumph in the virtual world, defeat in the real world

The setback of the GCC and NATO brings to light a power struggle that many scented, but no one could ascertain: the West won the media war but had to retreat from the military arena. To paraphrase Mao Zedong: they have become virtual tigers.

During this crisis, and even today, Western leaders and Arab monarchs have managed to intoxicate not only their own people, but a large part of international public opinion. They made people believe that the Syrian population had risen against their government and that he conducted a bloody crackdown against political protesters. Satellite channels not only concocted arrangements for misleading the public, but they also shot staged images in a studio to fit their propaganda purposes. Ultimately, the GCC and NATO invented and kept alive through the media for ten months a revolution that existed only in words and images, while on the ground Syria had to face a low intensity war conducted by the Wahhabi Legion supported by NATO.

However, with Russia and China having made use of their veto already once and Iran having announced its intention to fight alongside Syria if required, the United States and their vassals had to recognize that pursuing their plans would draw them into a world war. After months of extreme tension, the U.S. admitted they were bluffing and didn’t have good enough cards for their game.

Despite a military budget of over $ 800 billion, the United States is a giant with feet of clay. Indeed, if their armed forces are still capable of destroying developing States, debilitated by previous wars or lengthy embargoes, like Serbia, Iraq or Libya, they are no longer in a position to occupy a territory, or measure up to a State capable of responding and taking the war to America.

Contrary to accepted wisdom, the United States have never been a significant military power. They were engaged for a few weeks towards the end of World War II, against a foe already annihilated by the Red Army; they were defeated in North Korea and Vietnam; they have never controlled the situation in Afghanistan and they were forced to clear out of Iraq for fear of being crushed.

During the last two decades, the U.S. empire has erased human reality from its wars and has communicated by assimilating war and video games. It is on this basis that recruitment campaigns are conducted, and that military training takes place. Today, it uses hundreds of thousands of video players as surrogate soldiers. Therefore, the slightest contact with reality can demoralize its armed forces. According to its own statistics, the majority of dead soldiers did not fall in combat, but committed suicide, while one-third of their serving military personnel suffers from psychiatric disorders and unfit for combat. The exorbitance of the Pentagon’s military budget is cannot to compensate for its human degradation.

New values​​: honesty and sovereignty

The failure of the GCC and NATO States goes hand in hand with the breakdown of their values​​. They pretend to be defenders of human rights and democracy, when they have established torture as a system of government and most of them are opposed to the principle of popular sovereignty.

Even if public opinion in the West and the Gulf is under informed on this subject, the United States and their vassals have been running since 2001 a vast network of secret prisons and torture centers, including inside the European Union. On the pretext of the war against terrorism, they have sown terror, kidnapped and tortured more than 80 000 people. During the same period, they created special operations units with an annual budget of nearly $10 billion, which boast of political killings in at least 75 countries, according to their own reports.

Regarding democracy, the United States today make no secret that in their eyes it does not stand for a "government of the people, by the people, for the people," in the words of Abraham Lincoln, but the subjection of people to their will as illustrated by the policies and wars of President Bush. Moreover, their constitution rejects the principle of popular sovereignty and they have suspended fundamental freedoms by establishing a permanent state of emergency through the Patriot Act. As for their vassals in the Gulf, there is no need to mention that they are absolute monarchies.

It is this model that combines unashamedly massive crimes and humanitarian discourse, which was defeated by Russia and China; two States whose record on human rights and democracy, though very questionable, is infinitely superior to that of the GCC and NATO.

By making use of their veto, Moscow and Beijing have defended two principles: respect for the truth, without which justice and peace are impossible, and respect for the sovereignty of peoples and states, without which no democracy is possible.

The time has come to strive to rebuild a human society after a period of barbarism.

003.045 The angels said: O Maryam (Mary), God gives you the good tidings of a Word from Him, his name is The Messiah (Christ ) Jesus, The son of Maryam (Mary), held in honor in this world and the hereafter, and of the nearest to God.

021.091 And She (Maryam), who fortified (preserved) her womb, and We breathed into her from Our Spirit, and We made her and her son a beacon to all creation."

002.087 We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of messengers; We gave Jesus the son of Mary Clear (Signs) and strengthened him with the Holy Spirit. Is it that whenever there comes to you a messenger with what ye yourselves desire not, ye are puffed up with pride?- Some ye called impostors, and others ye slay! And We gave Jesus the Son of Maryam (Mary) the truths, and We supported him with the Holy Spirit...."

003.055 And Allah said: Oh Jesus! I am causing you to die, and lifting you up to Me, and cleansing you of those who blasphemed, and making those who follow you above those who blasphemed, until the Day of Resurrection..."

006.073 It is He Who created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): the day He saith, "Be," behold! it is. His Word is the Truth. His will be the dominion the day the trumpet will be blown [heralding the resurrection of all men which God will then command]. He knoweth the Unseen as well as that which is open. Jesus Christ begotten of the Father - not made

Concerning Jesus Christ the Holy Spirit spoke through John about Him this way:

Jesus Christ is the Word of God as both Islam and Christian faith proclaim. He was not made but existed with the Father and the Holy Spirit before all things that were created, made by God. This is His begotten of the Father before all ages (engendered of the same essence by the Father) but never begotten by man, that is by human generation.

14 And the Word was made flesh – means that the pre-existent Word of God was never created but always existing with the Father and the Holy Spirit – that He took upon himself flesh in His Kenosis from the blessed virgin Mary.

He was conceived in blessed Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of her upon earth, He died and rose again and ascended to heaven at the Father's right hand seated in power and glory. He shall come again at His Parousia to raise all people and judge them all.
