Vatican I and Vatican II are linked at the hip and both are invalid as councils; Vatican I because it was never formally closed; Vatican II because it was called by an Impostor, Roncalli, who was not canonically elected as Pope and who was a candidate that in any case could not be elected because of his formal Apostasy from the faith (in 1935) in embracing Rosecrucianism (Judaizing Satanic Freemasonry) which he never abjured. Concerning Vatican I – During the reign of Pius IX, On October 20, 1870, the Council was adjourned, though not formally concluded. A council that is not formally concluded remains unfinished and does not have its decrees proclaimed and promulgated and therefore they are not binding. That included papal infallibility. There never has been infallibility of Popes and given the last 6 Antipopes in Rome, there never will be infallibility of Popes.

Pius IX. autocratically treated the Bishops, at the Vatican I Council, meanly in a way that heretofore was unheard of and let them know his opinion that that they were not there to bear their testimony to him (which had been the sacred custom since the earliest days of the Church), but to hear his infallible decree; “reducing us,” said the Archbishop of Paris, Georges Darboy, “to a council of sacristans.”

Trent was the last valid Council.

Ecumenical Council. A general council of the bishops of the world. For a council to be truly ecumenical it must be convoked by the pope; include, morally speaking, the bishops of the whole world; be presided over by the pope or his legate; receive confirmation from the pope, by his approval of its decrees. Dogmatic definitions of an ecumenical council are infallibly true; its disciplinary measures, while binding in conscience, may be modified or changed by the pope. Vatican Council. The 20th ecumenical council, opened at Saint Peter’s in Rome on December 8, 1869, during the reign of Pope Pius IX. On October 20, 1870, the Council was adjourned, though not formally concluded, owing to the presence in Rome of the Italian troops who seized the Papal States (which see). The Council issued two important dogmatic constitutions, one on the nature of faith and its relationship to reason, the other on the primacy of the pope. In the latter constitution the famous definition of papal infallibility (which see) was made.

Infallibility of the Pope. The special prerogative of the Holy Father by which, when teaching matters of faith and morals with the full authority he has as Vicar of Christ, he is divinely preserved from error. Such has always been the teaching of the Catholic Church. Papal infallibility was defined by the Vatican Council (1870), which declared “it to be a dogma of divine revelation that when the Roman Pontiff speaks ex cathedra, i.e., when he, using his office as shepherd and teacher of all Christians, in virtue of his apostolic authority, defines a doctrine of faith or morals to be held by the whole Church he, by the divine assistance promised him in blessed Peter, possesses that infallibility with which the divine Redeemer was pleased to invest His Church in the definition of doctrine on faith and morals, and that, therefore, such definitions of the Roman Pontiff are irreformable in their own nature and not because of the consent of the Church.”

This infallibility refers only to teaching concerning faith and morals, and then only when the Holy Father speaks with the full authority he has as the chief shepherd of the flock of Christ. It has nothing to do with the personal moral life of the pope. A pope, no matter what his morals might be, would enjoy this prerogative; infallibility has nothing to do with impeccability, or inability to sin. The pope is still a human being, and since even the “just man falls seven times a day,” it is not to be wondered at that the lives of some of the popes have not been edifying. The power of infallibility does not depend on his holiness.

Apostasy. The total rejection of the Christian faith by a baptized person. Hence, a Catholic who becomes an atheist or a rationalist would be an apostate. By becoming an apostate a Catholic is ipso facto excommunicated, and is to be refused Christian burial if he dies without showing signs of repentance. Apostasy (a total rejection of the faith) differs from heresy, which is a denial of one or another truth of faith. Saint Paul (2 Thess. 2:3) warns that the second coming of Christ will be preceded by a great apostasy. Christ seems to have referred to this same apostasy in Matt. 24:11-12 and Luke 18:8.

Apostate. One guilty of apostasy (which see).

Modernism. In general, an exaggerated love of what is modern or novel. As a theological term, modernism designates the heresy, or rather the collection of errors, which rose in the Church at the beginning of the 20th century under the influence of men like Loisy (France), Tyrrel (England), and Buonaiuti (Italy). Under Pope Pius X, two famous documents were issued against modernism: (1) a decree of the Holy Office, Lamentabili, of July 3, 1907, and (2) the encyclical Pascendi, of September 8, 1907. The former is a list of 65 condemned propositions of the modernists; the latter is an analysis of the theories of the modernists in contrast with the philosophy and doctrine of true Christianity.

Among the errors of the modernists’ teaching were the following: (1) It is impossible to prove the existence of a God distinct from the world. (2) “Revelation” is only a natural product of the subconscious, and dogma is only an expression of the subconscious, subject to continual evolution. (3) The Bible is not a divinely inspired book, and it ought to be studied the same way as any human book, which is likely to contain errors. (4) There is no need to reconcile science and faith. One may deny as a scientist what he believes as a Christian. (5) The divinity of Christ was not taught by the Gospels, but is the product of an evolution in Christian thinking over the centuries. (6) The idea of a redemptive value in the death of Christ originated with Saint Paul. (7) Christ instituted neither the Church nor the primacy of Peter. The present organization of the Church is purely the result of historical contingencies, and could be completely changed.

Modernism is an amalgam of verbal Catholicism and naturalistic rationalism. The modernists did not wish to abandon any of the traditional statements of Catholic teaching. But these statements were to be given a new rationalistic meaning. Pius X foresaw that modernism would lead to an abolition of all religion and gradually to atheism.

Perfidiæ is the complete and voluntary abandonment of the Christian religion, whether the apostate embraces another religion such as Paganism, Judaism, Mohammedanism, etc., or merely makes profession of Naturalism, Rationalism, etc.

ipso facto, the last 6 Antipopes, John XXIII - Francis are Apostates and excommunicate and not Catholic and not Popes - they have professed those other beliefs totally knowingly and willfully -- unlike someone who has the valid defense of not knowing what they were doing, like all who have rejected the V2 Apostasy after they were mislead by it because the episcopal and parish and monastic and ecclesial etc leaders said it was approved. Those episcopal and parish and monastic and ecclesial etc leaders lied to the faithful and are culpable. Christ's straying sheep who were mislead are easily forgiven by Him if they only come to Him and ask. But don't go near V2 anymore. When in doubt or confused by someone, make NO confession in anything you know in your heart is not of Christ.

This book below is the only one to be approved by the Holy Office as a teaching on the Antichrist, per se, in the last 150 years. There are others on various aspects of Eschatology that do mention the Antichrist.

In the work of our redemption, the three divine persons of the adorable Trinity manifested themselves. The Son adores the Father; the Holy Ghost gives glory to the Son. And we see that in the mystery of iniquity Antichrist adores Satan and the false prophet glorifies Antichrist. Hence we have every reason to show that this false prophet will be an individual person and not a collective term to designate the universality of preachers engaged in the service of Antichrist. What this mark is will be manifested in its time.
